How We Started

On a cool October day in 2016, our family found a young black kitten amongst a feral cat colony. At that time another cat in the house (which was only one) was out of the question, but looking at how innocent this little animal was, there was no way that we could put him back on the street to face the cold winter to come. In this moment we realized how important rescue was to us - to never want to see a kitten or adult cat homeless or abandoned. In the spring of 2017 we slowly began trapping, vetting and finding homes on our own, out of our own pockets. As this became a lifestyle, February of 2018 we officially became a 501c3 non-profit, Feral to Family.

With a love for rescue, comes many expenses. Between food, litter & vet bills, maintaining the health of dozens and dozens of animals becomes extremely costly. As 2019 resuce costs were higher than ever, with over 90 cats in our rescue, we needed to find an alternate means for financing our rescue - while not decreasing the number of cats and kittens we could save.

Catpurrccinos was created with the intention of serving multiple purposes:

  • Support the financial aspects of rescue/contribute to the cat community
  • Aid as an additional adoption center, where cats and kittens in need of homes can gain exposure
  • Bringing our passion of food with our passion of rescue together under one roof

About the Cafe

Not a cat person? While we wish you were, that's okay - Catpurrccinos will still be the place for you! What makes the concept of a cat cafe so unique, is that while operating as one, the food & beverage component and the cattery are two completely separate elements. What this means in that if you are allergic or simply not an animal person, you can enjoy delicious food and beverages, while admiring the cattery through a large window overlooking the space. For those that are cat lovers - for an additional fee (100% donated to the rescue) you may enter our cattery, with or without your menu items in hand and enjoy!

  • Coffee & Italian Sodas
  • Breakfast All Day
  • Lunch & Dinner (grilled cheese, sandwich melts, wraps, salads)
  • Bakery
  • Curbside Pickup
  • Delivery

About the Cat Room

The cat portion of the cafe, is entered through a vestibule that is connected from the coffee shop. Picture your living room - couches, tables, TVs - but also doubling as a relaxation room and adoption center. Some of the elements of our cattery that we are most proud of are:

  • Mobile Vet on premise twice weekly overseeing wellness
  • Medical Attention Room/Isolation Room
  • Vet Assistant on staff
  • TVs for Entertainment (low for the kitties & high for our human friends)
  • Activities (books, mini golf, etc.)
  • Live Streaming Camera - presented on our website, as well as a TV in the front window of the coffee shop for our outdoor guests to enjoy!

Frequently Asked Questions

1. "Do I need a reservation to eat?"

No - like a standard quick-serve cafe, all food orders are placed at the counter and all tables are self seated.

2. "Do I need a reservation to see the cats?"

While you do not need a reservation, it is highly recommended if: you are traveling (whatever distance you consider that to be), it is a weekend day, it is a holiday, or it is a day in which school is off. Walk-ins are absolutely welcome, but on certain days (ex: mentioned above) our room fills up very quickly and can only accommodate walk-ins if there is space.

3. "So, I just buy food and then can go see the cats?"

No - food/beverage purchases have nothing to do with your entry. There is an entry fee to go into the room that is separate from any food or beverage purchase - we can't force people to eat from our menu (even though we know you'll love it!). While it is not needed, supporting our food/beverage side in the end helps support our rescue! Any item that you do purchase from the menu can be brought into the cattery after packaged to-go, to be re-opened and consumed at your own discretion.

4. "Are there cats walking around where you make the food?"

Absolutely not! For starters, this would 100% not be board of health approved, and would not make for a sanitary work environment for food. Our goal is to happily serve ALL people, not just animals lovers! If you are not about cats (which you totally should be) - no worries, your favorite lunch & coffee is waiting for you!

5. "What age do you need to be to go into the cattery?"

In order to enter without an adult, guests must be 14 years or older. Any child 13 or younger must be accompanied at all time by an adult 18 years or older.

6. "How much does it cost to go see the cats?"

All entries are $13/per person. Children 2 years and younger enter for free. This entry is to help support the medical and necessary supplies for all of the cats in the cafe, as well as the cats in the rescue that are currently in foster homes.

7. "Can I go home with a cat the same day as my visit?"

No. All adoptions are processed by the rescue and include a background check, reference check, as well as a home visit, all of which are completed off-premise.
